The 2026 Duotone Evo D/LAB refines an already legendary kite with a flatter arc, redesigned 6-point bridle, and new closing seam that deliver noticeably better hang time, loft, and forgiveness over its predecessor. It remains one of the most powerful, wind-range-dominating Aluula kites on the market, capable of massive boosts and floaty kite loops at a level very few kites match. The main caveat is that looping demands more technical precision than many modern big-air kites, and the added bar pressure versus the 2024 model means it is not the easiest kite to progress loop tricks on.

Pros

  • +Exceptional low-end for its size; rideable in winds too light for comparable kites
  • +Explosive vertical boost, on par with the Duotone Rebel D/LAB
  • +Outstanding hang time, improved over the previous Evo D/LAB
  • +Flatter arc and new closing seam deliver more stability and forgiveness in gusts
  • +More forgiving on depower than the 2024 model; kinder to intermediate riders
  • +Still carries the iconic Evo 'sheet and go' power and direct bar feel

Cons

  • Loops require more technical precision than top progression-friendly kite loopers
  • Slightly heavier, slower bar feel than the outgoing 2024 model — less agile for advanced kite-loop tricks
  • Kite can stall or pause mid-loop if technique is off, especially when back-line tension is too high
  • Not as beginner-loop-friendly as competitors like the Brainchild or dedicated loop kites
  • Aluula material shows peeling and splitting with heavy long-term use (observed on earlier generation)

Best for

Intermediate to advanced big-air riders who want maximum boost, elite hang time, and broad wind range in a single Aluula kite.

Not for

Riders whose primary focus is progressing kite loops, or complete beginners who need a forgiving first Aluula kite.

and welcome once again to another plus-sized kite review, where this time around I'll be focusing on the latest Duo Tone Evos, both the SLS and DAB. If you are new to the channel, it might be worth checking out my last review where I look at the Rebel DLabs as I will be referring to it to compare to

Bottom line

Overall, in the very strong conditions, particularly for the lighter kites and the Evos, I do prefer the performance of the trust bar. Um, even if the lack of auto and wine does get annoying, I find the added weight of the Harlem bar more of an advantage with the heavier kites, particularly in the larger sizes. So, if I was going to choose, I'd probably go for the Trust Bar and kites up to size 9 and the Harlem bar for sizes 10 and up. Personally, in terms of performance, um I do know if I had t

brother. Here. Let's go. Got definitely better on the second version. Yo, what's up, brother? Yo, RP, how are you? Stop loser. Oh, good. Yeah. How are you guys? Looking pretty prime out there. Yeah. Are you going now? Yeah. Yeah, I'm going to go now. Yeah, I'm going to come. This is the brand new Evo Dab. I got to I got to try it out. Are you that

Bottom line

Overall, the kite still really has the Evo Dab DNA inside it. The bar feel is still very similar. Although it's a very different kite, the sheet and go is very similar. The buildup in steering pressure is super similar. So, if you liked the Evo dealer before, you'll definitely feel very familiar flying this one. If you thought it was a little bit too aggressive or whatever you thought about it, I highly suggest you go give it a try. I've only tried a few prototypes of the kite of which I already definitely felt a huge improvement. Uh, fortunately with this big foot, uh, it's going to take a li
